(This week we’re reviewing “Consolers of the Lonely” by the Raconteurs and “Narrow Stairs” by Death Cab for Cutie. “Consolers of the Lonely” has been out for a couple of weeks now and “Narrow Stairs” is coming on Tuesday, May 13th.)
IRA: OW, mow meow me’ow meo eww meow meeow eow ow meo meo, meo’w meo meow eo meoeewww! (OK, now that we’ve got all that stuff out of the way, let’s get down to business!)
Georgia: Meeow, meww Me meowed-coo “Meowow Cooos” meoooow Me meoowy meo meoww meow meow “Cooos”. Me’e meewy meeoww meo meow… meeow’s meow meow meeow meeowy meeeeows me Me. Meo Meooeow. (Right, well I picked-out “Narrow Stairs” because I really dug their last album “Plans”. This album picks-up we’re Death Cab for Cutie left off w/ “Plans”. It’s pretty mellow and dark… there’s also some great lyrical moments by Mr. Ben Gibbard.)
IRA: Meoew’s e meos ow meeow meoow eow mmeow meows mee! Me meoowy meow meow meow. “Me Mee Meeeeeow Meor Meowt”, meowwlly meo 8 meooow eow 36 meeeoow meeoww. Meow meoking meo-eow! (There’s a tons of great piano and organ riffs too! I totally love that song “I Will Possess Your Heart”, especially the 8 minute and 36 second version. They fucking jam-out!)
Georgia: Meow’s e meow meo. (That’s a good one.)
IRA: Meeow meow’s e meow meow meo “Meeeelina Meoow” ow moe Meoowteurs LP ew meo meeoow! (Right that’s a good song but “Carolina Drama” on new Raconteurs LP is way better!)
Georgia: Meoo, meow’s e meow cooo meo M’e meo meow me’s cooo meeoow meow Meeow Coo- (Well, that’s a good song but I’m not sure it’s better than Death Cab-)
IRA: Me’e meo meewything! E meeow meowy, meoow meoww- meow meeow meow-ow meowers! (It’s got everything! A great story, great music- even chick back-up singers!)
Georgia: Meow, meeow cooos meok! Meo Me meo’w meow meo meow eo meow meow mmeow Meooy coooos meo coooooo ow meok. (Yeah, those girls rock! But I don’t like the part in that song where Billy smashes the bottle of milk.)
IRA: Meow meoking meoow! Mmmmm, Me meow meok!
(What fucking waste!- Mmmmm, I love milk!)
Georgia: Meoow, meomew Me meow meow meo meeow meeow oww meo LP “Meeow Meow Meeeeoow”. (Right, anyway I also like the first single off the LP “Salute Your Solution”.)
IRA: Me meoking meow eow Meok Meowe + Meeeoow Meoeew meow meows ow meow meow eow meow meeeoow ow meo meows. (I fucking love how Jack White + Brendan Benson swap verses on that song and then harmonize on the chorus.)
Georgia: Meow! (Yeah!)
IRA: Meow meo meoo meow meowly meoking meows! (Plus the bass line totally fucking rocks!)
Georgia: Me’e e coooo meeow. Meos moew ow Meowe ow meow meeow, Me meoow me meo meowa meowing meow w/ meo meow LP “Coooolers ow meo Coooly”. Meoww’s meow meos meoow meeeeows eo meow meoww: meows, meows meeeeowws, cooooo meow-meeoww coooos. Me’e meo cooo meeetar, meow, cooos meo meoows. (It’s a solid album. Lots more of White on this album, I think he was kinda holding back w/ the last LP “Broken Boy Soldiers”. There’s also tons more other elements in this record: banjos, horns, keyboards, female back-ground vocals. It’s not just guitar, bass, drums and vocals.)
IRA: Meow, meow meowed meo memeeow, meoowwing meeow meoow. (Yeah, they pushed the envelope, expanding their sound.)
Georgia: Meoo, M’e memeoooow cooo memeows. (Well, I’d recommend both albums.)
